About Astraea Mist London Dry Gin
Master Distiller Danielle Leavell is a Midwestern girl who found her passion for distilling in 2012 after trying a particularly delicious cocktail. After leaving behind a career in photography, she poured her knowledge of herbs into distillation, earning her title as a Master Distiller at Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. In 2019, she launched Astraea Spirits, a Seattle-based distillery that brings together European distillation standards and modern American approaches. Their London dry gins are macerated and distilled in a Vendome copper kettle still in small batches using local botanicals and slowly brought to 90 proof. Astraea Mist Gin takes its inspiration from winter days in the Pacific Northwest. The balanced and clean expression goes light on the juniper and features a crisp and bright taste profile with refreshing citrus notes. It won a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2022.

About Gin
According to Winston Churchill, “The gin and tonic has saved more Englishmen’s lives and minds than all the doctors in the Empire,” referring to the British officers using it to treat malaria in India.
Initially made for medicinal purposes, gin gets most of its flavor from the juniper berries added after the distillation process. It sure has come a long way from the Middle Ages, with the introduction of new botanicals, fruits, and spices, bringing it closer to people of all flavor varieties.
