About Azul Imperial Blanco Tequila
Founded by Macrina Montes, Azul Imperial is a small-batch spirit that’s crafted from agaves from a single estate. Montes grew up in the south of Jalisco, the birthplace of the famous Mexican spirit. While her home region was full of agave fields, it was without its own brand, which prompted Montes to start Azul Imperial. Their range now consists of Blanco, Reposado, Reposado Red, Añejo, and Extra Añejo tequila. The agaves that go into their Blanco come from their own fields and each batch only uses the piñas from a single field. These are steamed in an autoclave oven, crushed using a roller mill, and left to ferment for 3 days. Then, the liquid is double-distilled using a copper pot still. The terroir tequila is bottled unaged at 80 proof and features a deliciously agave-forward taste profile.
