About Château Garreau Cuvee Royale Grand Bas Armagnac
Château Garreau Cuvee Royale Grand Bas Armagnac comes from their Invitation series of younger spirits. More than 80% of the grapes used were of the Baco variety, the other two being Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche. The expression spent more than 6 years in their cellars before being bottled at 80 proof. Its profile is slightly smoky with cinnamon and fruit notes, making it the perfect Armagnac for whisky lovers.

About Chateau Garreau
Château Garreau (Domaine de Gayrosse) is situated in the Bas Armagnac region in the south of France, roughly between Bordeaux and Toulouse ― the region known as “The Golden Triangle of Armagnac”. Two farms are part of the 82-hectare estate: the Gayrosse and Brameloup farms with some of the buildings dating back to the 17th century. Most of the buildings were erected in the 19th century. There’s a museum on the premises (Ecomusée de l’Armagnac) that accepts visitors year-round and features a permanent exhibition of bottles as well as temporary exhibitions. It is there that you can learn about the history and heritage of Armagnac and the local terroir.
The Garreau family took over the estate in 1919 and is now in its 3rd and 4th generations, with Carole Garreau taking over the reins most recently. She continues in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, fusing modernity and tradition while adopting sustainable practices. They grow Baco, Ugni Blanc, and Folle Blanche grape varietals in their vineyards on the sandy loam soil of the region, nestled between woods and ponds. Each of these varietals is distilled separately before they are meticulously blended and matured in oak casks in their underground cellar that is more than a century old and features unique temperature and humidity levels that are perfect for maturing Armagnac.
About Brandy
Brandy is typically produced from distilled wine and other fermented fruit juices like apples, pears, and other sweet fruits.
It is a perfect after-dinner digestif served neat or slightly warmed by holding the glass with your hands.
The kick can vary between 70-120 proof, and it gets its flavor from aging in wooden casks.
