About Chicken Cock Double Oak 8 Year Old Whiskey
Since 1856, the Chicken Cock team has been on a holy mission to unleash the mighty power of the barrel, determined to craft only the finest, award-winning whiskeys. They’re so picky about their wood that they hand-select each and every tree that goes into crafting their barrels because mediocre logs just won’t cut it. From this understanding that exceptional whiskeys demand exceptional wood, they aged this 8-year-old liquor twice in American oak barrels. This double-wood technique allows them to extract every last drop of delicious flavor from the oak. The result is a sip that’s twice as nice, with a rich chestnut hue and a tempting aroma that’ll have you daydreaming of dark chocolate-covered berries, toasted coconut, and caramel coffee. At 92 proof, it offers a heavenly blend of vanilla bean, waffle cone, ripe berries, and warm baking spices, all culminating in a smooth and velvety finish. It’s perfect for sipping neat — because, let’s be real, anything else would be sacrilege.

About Chicken Cock
Grain & Barrel Spirits is the passion project of Matti Anttila a former J.P. Morgan investment banker turned spirits entrepreneur. During a business trip to Brazil, he sampled the local Brazilian Cachaça. He enjoyed it so much so that he decided to launch Cabana Cachaça quickly building it into a successful brand. After another spirits investment, he founded Grain & Barrel Spirits in 2013.
The Chicken Cock label dates all the way back to 1856, and is one of the oldest bourbon brands in history. The brand was successful in Paris, Kentucky, its popularity peaking during Prohibition when production was moved to Canada. In the 1950’s the Chicken Cock Distillery was destroyed by a fire, and in 2016 Grain & Spirits bought the brand and released their line of Whiskey.
About American Whiskey
There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don’t fall into those two strictly regulated categories.
There’s equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.
And then there’s moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.
