Huerto Tequila starts with mature (7-year-old or so) 100% blue Weber agaves of the finest quality. After the hearts of the agave plants are harvested, they are baked and milled in order to extract the juices. The lengthy fermentation process is then followed by distillation. Instead of being distilled twice ― as is most common with tequila ― Huerto is triple-distilled using an advanced column process. This removes natural impurities and reduces harsh alcohol notes, resulting in a pure spirit that is extra-smooth. The expression is unaged, enabling the true character of the agave to be presented in the purest form. Bottled at 80 proof, the tequila features a striking bottle with an ash wood topper that is crafted in Barcelona and doubles as a sipping glass.
