Released in 2021, The Kraken Attacks is a limited-edition collection of Caribbean black spiced rums. The Kraken Attacks Ohio is as “dark as a lake-effect whiteout at midnight” and it’s been spotted all over the Buckeye state. Crafted with natural flavors and caramel color, this black spiced rum is exceptionally flavorful and smooth with notes of cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg. Expect a lingering and spicy finish that is best enjoyed in classic rum cocktails.
First introduced in 2010, Kraken Rum is a Caribbean black spiced Rum, produced by US-based Proximo Spirits. The base rum is a molasses-base rum from Trinidad where it’s made with locally grown sugar cane. Kraken Rum is inspired by the Kraken, a giant mythical sea monster. According to the legend of the Kraken, once upon a time in the Caribbean Islands, a ship carrying a large amount of black spiced Rum disappeared mysteriously – and with it all the sailors. Rumor has it that the ship carrying the black spiced rum was attacked by the Kraken as the monster resided in the blackest depths of the sea, emerging only to destroy and devour entire ships. Only one barrel of rum survived, stained by the squid’s black ink – it was named “The Kraken Rum”.

About The Kraken
Kraken Black is a Caribbean black spiced Rum inspired by the Kraken, a giant mythical sea monster. Produced by US-based Proximo Spirits. According to the legend of the Kraken, years and years ago in the Caribbean Islands, a ship carrying a large amount of black spiced Rum disappeared quite mysteriously. Rumor has it that the ship carrying the black spiced rum was attacked by the Kraken.
This spirit of this spiced rum’s foundation is sourced from Trinidad. It is distilled from molasses crafted from locally-grown sugar cane. Kraken Black is aged for up to 2 years and blended with a mix of 11 spices, including cinnamon, ginger and clove. The bottle is inspired by a Victorian style, featuring two hoop handles. This is an age old tradition born from hanging bottled to prevent breakages.
About Rum
Rum history allegedly started in the Carribiens in the 17th century when they started to ferment and distill molasses, a byproduct of sugar production. Most of the Rum is aged in oak or ex-wine casks, giving its color and flavor.
